The Baan Nokkamin Foundation is an NGO supporting orphans, abandoned kids, street children, and less fortunate families around Thailand by caring for and strengthening them so they are ready to face the world in the future. Currently supporting over 250 children, there are 7 offices in Thailand including one in Hua Hin.
The organisation was founded in 1989 by Mr Erwin Groebli, a swiss missionary visiting Thailand. He was struck by the plight of a group of street children living in Bangkok and invited them to his home for food, a shower and a place to sleep. Word spread quickly and soon Mr Groebli was inundated by children and thus the Baan Nokkamin Foundation began and was certified by the Thai government.
In Hua Hin there are about 15 children currently involved with the organisation aged between 7 and 14. The assistance offered includes basic day to day needs (especially basic food supplies) and helping with school supplies. They then support the children through day to day life and on Saturday mornings some activities are offered so that the kids can be with their friends, play sports, do arts and crafts, practise English and get a delicious and nutritious lunch.
